Billing via third-party payer services
The AZORG hospital network also approached Mediris with a concrete question: how can we bill online at all our hospital sites? AZORG chose to deploy Mediris eFact at all campuses. After a few successful demonstrations, most doctors and their secretarial staff started using Mediris eFact, our third-party payer system.

Since 1 January, all departments of AZORG have access to the eFact licence. Doctors at all campuses (Aalst, Asse, Geraardsbergen, Ninove and Wetteren) have since been able to easily bill their services online and submit them directly to the health insurance funds.
Virtual environments
Because doctors mainly want to focus on their patient during the consultation, it was decided to create a separate virtual environment per department. This way, we could link the secretarial staff to the correct virtual environments so that they can correctly settle the services on behalf of the doctor.
This system ensures that doctors have more time for their patients. Moreover, this setup promotes collaboration between the various AZORG campuses.
Our solutions
The Mediris eFact module proved to be the ideal solution for AZORG to bill online. Thanks to this implementation, all doctors within the network are in order in time with the mandatory electronic billing by 1 September 2025.
In addition, doctors can enter the various transparency codes. In this way, AZORG immediately complies with all NIHDI obligations, which are now fully integrated into the operation of the hospital sites.
